The player of The Tournament
The player of The Tournament is Ashleigh Gardner, She said, “We have been longing for this moment for the World Cup. Today just showed that we were not in winning positions throughout the tournament. Proud of this group. Probably the semi-final. my role within the team with both bat and ball. Personal accolades are great but I am proud of this win. I have bowled more and it has translated into internationals as well. It was about putting my team in winning positions. Words cannot describe how proud I am of the group. We talk about evolving as individuals and growing globally. There is so much fun playing cricket for your country. This phase is something I am going to be proud of later in life.”
Player of The Match

It was a really tough wicket and I was a little too harsh on myself in the middle. Really disappointed with my outings in the first couple of games. But the team always believed in me to turn it around. The whole squad and support staff have been amazing.”
South African batsman Wolvaardt
South African batsman Laura Wolvaardt said “It’s been such an incredible tournament to be part of. This is my home ground – I live just down the road. Australia is always going to be a tough side to beat in the final. We didn’t get off to a great start and it was always tough to catch up towards the end. You could hear every single cheer. It’s something I’ve never experienced – a crowd like this. I could do this every day. Very cool experience. I think it’s been amazing as a group.”
