The Latin American nation Argentina lifted the football World Cup in Lusail Stadium, Qatar after a long wait of 36 years on football’s biggest stage on Sunday night
It is the second time in five World Cups that France has lost the final on penalties after their defeat to Italy in 2006, and it is Argentina who is champions for the first time since 1986.

The third World Cup final penalty shoot-out started with Messi and Mbappe both scoring, but Kingsley Coman’s next kick for France was saved and Aurelien Tchouameni then crucially missed the target.
Argentina got a penalty in the 23rd minute of the match which was converted by Messi, similarly, in the 36th minute D, Mariya easily put Messi”s brilliant pass into the net before halftime. With just ten minutes remaining in the half, Argentina is in the lead by two goals.
France gets a penalty in the 80th minute of the match and France’s star player Mbappe takes full advantage of it to score 2-1.
Argentinas players were not even able to handle the last goal when Mbappe leveled the score 2-2 with an excellent ground goal in just the 81st minute of the match.
Argentina appeared to have won the game with a late goal from Messi in the second half of extra time, but only a few seconds later did they give up a penalty. Mbappe converted a penalty.
Mbappe is the first player in World Cup history to score a hat-trick in the final.
The drama did not end after 90 minutes, as Messi gave Argentina a 108th-minute lead before Mbappe converted a penalty right before the end of 120 minutes to tie the game 3-3.
Mbappé and Messi took their teams’ first penalties and scored. Kingsley Coman had an attempt saved by Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez and Aurelien Tchouameni then missed for France, giving Gonzalo Montiel the opportunity to end it. He converted the penalty to the left and Argentina won their third World Cup, after 36 years.
