The Indian team scored 185 runs while batting in the first innings. In response, Australia could score only 181 runs in the first innings. The Indian team had a lead of four runs in the first innings.

India’s batsmen started playing ahead with a lead of 4 runs in their second innings and scored 157 more runs in the second innings and took a total lead of 161 runs. In reply to India’s total score of 161 runs, Australia lost their first 4 wickets at a score of 104 runs.
Australia’s opener batsman Sam Constas was out for 22 runs and Usman Khawaja for 41 runs; then the wickets of Marnus Labuschagne (6) and Steve Smith (4) also fell as the third and fourth wickets. But after this, Travis Head (34*) and Beau Webster (39*) made a strong partnership on the wicket and gave Australia a historic victory.
